Chicago Engineers Foundation & ULCC Public Affairs Present: Black Engineers, Scientists and Inventors in American History

In celebration of Black History Month, on Wednesday, February 13, the ULCC Public Affairs Subcommittee on Race Relations and Chicago Engineers Foundation invite members and their guests to a presentation on “Black Engineers, Scientists and Inventors in American History.”

Our speaker is Mr. George A. Smith, a member of the Chicago Engineers Foundation Associate Committee and a Founder of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Mr. Smith attended Purdue University, pursing a degree in electrical engineering. While at Purdue, he was one of six undergraduate students who established a first-of-its kind professional and mentoring society for minority engineering students, which evolved to become the NSBE. Since its inception, NSBE has grown from six founding members to more than 17,000, with over 500 chapters worldwide.

Our forum begins with registration at 5:00 p.m. with light snacks and beverages, followed by the program at 5:15 and adjournment by 7:00 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: Although this program is presented on a complimentary basis, advance registration is required.
